Photo contest from DJI and National Geographic includes free drone rental program

National Geographic has teamed up with DJI for a pretty amazing drone photo contest. The contest runs on Instagram and started September 5th and will run through October 31st, and is open to US and Canadian residents only. The photo contest is for all photographers, both amateur and professional. To enter you simply upload your best drone shots to Instagram using the hashtags #MyMavicContest and #NatGeoTravel. Photo editors from National Geographic will select the five best submissions at the end of October. See here for the contest rules. The lucky winners will receive a DJI Mavic Pro. No word on whether this may actually be the new Mavic Pro Platinum.

Photo contest but no drone? No problem!

You would like to participate in the photo contest but you have no drone? No worries. DJI has you covered. The goal of the photo contest is to allow people to unleash their creativity and go out to create the most amazing nature and travel photography. Even if you don’t own a drone. DJI has come up with a free drone rental program to offer you the opportunity to go out and discover the possibilities for photography using a drone. This program is open all over the world. All you need to do is sign up using this form here.

DJI has made hundreds of drones available all for people to rent for two weeks. Even if you don’t want to participate in the contest, this is a great opportunity to try out and fly a drone. It may open your eyes to a whole new world of photography! Both the Phantom 4 Pro and the Mavic Pro are available for rent.

If you do participate in the contest. Good Luck!
