DJI Mavic Pro firmware update – v01.04.0400

While many of you were celebrating the fourth of July, DJI quietly released a new firmware update (v01.04.0400) for the DJI Mavic Pro. So far the first feedback from users seems to be pretty positive with reports of improved video transmission and hardly any problems after installing this latest version. Please note that this version cannot be rolled back to an earlier firmware version.

Update went fine

So far, so good. Most feedback from people who have installed the new firmware is positive. Unfortunately, my Mavic Pro is still at home (I brought the Parrot Anafi with me), so I can’t verify this myself.

Keep in mind that you should use the latest version of the DJI Go 4 App for your iPhone or Android smartphone and that you cannot roll back this latest firmware update. So, if you are unsure, you may want to wait a few days and follow the DJI forums.

The latest firmware update for the DJI Mavic Pro was back in February. You can find more information on many of the firmware updates here.

Here is what some people have reported so far:

“From what I read, the update is harmless and fixes some bugs. My only suggestion is to update, reset to factory default, then refresh again. I haven’t ever had an issue when installing new firmware this way.”

“Installed it and all appears to be go[od] so far. No issues to report ATT.”

“I just flight tested 3 batteries and seems good for basic flight, sport mode, gimbal movements and RTH. I recorded and took photos the entire time and focus worked OK as well. I did not notice any changes.Using the latest DJI GO 4.2.22”

“Update went fine. Short test flights on 2 different Mavic Pros went fine. Didn’t have too much time so did not check for new options, and video stream might be a little smoother on my Mini 4…”

What’s New?

This update includes an update for the DJI Goggles firmware:

• Added support for the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0.
• Fixed an issue that caused the video player to crash unexpectedly.

Notes:

• Once the firmware has been updated, it cannot be downgraded to a former version.
• Restart the aircraft and remote controller after the upgrade is complete.
• Please note that firmware update may reset various Main Controller Settings, such as the RTH Altitude and Maximum Flight Distance, to factory defaults. Before the
• update, take note of your preferred DJI GO 4 settings and readjust them after the update to suit your preference.
• If the firmware upgrade fails, restart aircraft, remote controller and DJI GO 4 or DJI Assistant 2, and retry.
