DroneRise – Komodo Dragons filmed with a DJI Mavic Pro

Good morning, here are yesterday’s headlines with news about DJI that launched a new Pro brand and awarded Yann Arthus-Bertrand the DJI Master title. Furthermore, DJI upgraded their Amazon store and you can still buy the Mavic 2 Pro at the original, lower price at Apple.com. Lastly, we have a drone (and dive) video from a group of friends who went to the Indonesian Komodo Islands and brought their DJI Mavic Pro ($999) along to get some nice drone footage of the scenery and the Komodo Dragons. Check it out!

Today’s video of the Komodo Dragons

Randy Ubillos emailed us and sent us this video of their trip to the Komodo Islands in Indonesia. He belongs to a group of friends that goes on a dive trip every spring. This time, however, they brought their DJI Mavic Pro along to capture some of the scenery and local animals, the Komodo Dragons. According to Randy the animals “have poor hearing and sense mostly by scent, which the drone doesn’t have”, as a result, they were able to fly really close to them and get some very cool footage. So grab your coffee and check out the video below. It’s well worth it!

We love it when you send us your videos. So, if you have a drone film that you would like to show on DroneDJ, send us an email with a link to your video on YouTube or Vimeo and provide us with some background info.
