Parrot launches ANAFI Work drone at InterDrone show in Las Vegas

Right at the start of the InterDrone show in Las Vegas, Parrot introduces two new drones; the ANFI Work and the senseFly eBee X. Let’s take a look at the ANAFI Work first. As the name implies, the drone is geared towards the commercial drone market. The drone features 4K HDR video and a 21 MP camera to take high-resolution images.  It features a new gimbal design with 2 mechanical axes and 1 digital axis for stabilized video footage. One of the features that set the ANAFI apart is the 90 degrees upward tilting camera, which can be very helpful for inspections of buildings and bridges.

A drone for the commercial market

The ANAFI was first introduced in June at Parrot’s event in New York City.

The ANAFI Work is aimed at the commercial drone market and specifically targets construction professionals, independent contractors, video producers, first responders, public safety, and more to overcome business challenges and boost efficiency and safety while achieving accurate aerial insight.

One the most appealing features of this drone is the high-resolution stabilized camera that can look 90 degrees upward and downward. Something that will surely come in handy for inspections and the like. Parrot says that the drone will allow:

“Architects, roofers and constructions workers to take accurate measurements, perform post-flight 3D inspections, share markers or 3D models directly using any web browser or preferred software.”

Additional ANAFI Work features include

  • Autonomous flying and data acquiring features
  • An ultra-portable, compact, rugged, lightweight and foldable UAV with a USB-C charging system.
  • An impressive flight time of 25 minutes made possible by a ‘bio-inspired’ design combined with a smart battery (four batteries are included).
  • A powerful and quiet propulsion system that allows ANAFI Work to fly in winds up to 31 MPH
  • A one-year subscription to Pix4Dmodel to easily produce 3D models and measurements of houses and buildings.

Specifications of the ANAFI Work

The ANAFI Work weighs only 320 grams (0.7 lbs.) and has a 25-minute flight time. The ANAFI is also much quieter than most drones that you’re used to.  It has a maximum speed of 34 mph and can be charged with a USB-C cable. The drone also features the 1/2.4” CMOS Sony 21MP IMX230 sensor with lossless zoom up to 2.8x, in combination with the Ambarella video processor. It offers a special 4K Cinema mode (17:9 ratio) with P-Log that allows for greater flexibility for color grading in post-production.

The drone offers the following video modes:

  • 4K Cinema: 24 fps
  • 4K UHD: 24, 25, 30 fps
  • 1080p: 24, 25, 30, 48, 50 or 60 fps
