In an article from Entrepreneur, Trumbull Unmanned’s founder and CEO, Dyan Gibbens says that a big part of her success in the drone industry can be attributed to finding expert and peer mentors who help her fill in the knowledge gaps and make connections. She says that:
“My advice to entrepreneurs is to engage mentors early on and ask for help. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness; asking for help is a sign of strength.”
Trumbull Unmanned is a company that uses drones to capture environmental and safety data. Dyan Gibbens, a former member of the U.S. Air Force Parachute Team has led her company to the Entrepreneur’s 2018 100 Brilliant Companies list. While being a veteran, mom, entrepreneur, Latina and a pilot, she also says that she likes to be seen as a role breaker because “statistics define the past, and I want to define the future.”
