Winter sports fans are in for a cinematic treat this season, as HoverAir has partnered with US Ski & Snowboard to bring the thrill of extreme snowboarding and freeskiing closer than ever with X1 Pro and Pro Max self-flying drones.
Through this new partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic National Governing Body for ski and snowboard sports in the US, HoverAir’s advanced X1 Pro and Pro Max flying cameras will capture world-class athletes in jaw-dropping 8K and 4K video at the 2024-25 Toyota US Grand Prix in Copper Mountain, Colorado. For the first time, fans will be able to witness high-octane stunts from stunning aerial angles during the competition, scheduled for December 18-21, 2024.
These drones, designed by Zero Zero Robotics, are tailor-made for capturing fast-paced action on challenging terrain. With features like OmniTerrain stability and hands-free AI filming, the X1 Pro and Pro Max can reach speeds up to 26 mph, making them perfect for following skiers and snowboarders down Copper’s legendary 22-foot halfpipe. Built-in tracking and collision detection ensure smooth, steady footage — even on rugged, icy slopes. And with 8K resolution on the Pro Max, every twist and turn is recorded with cinematic clarity.
“Winter sports demand peak speed, precision, and agility — values we’ve built into every aspect of the HoverAir X1 Pro and Pro Max,” says MQ Wang, founder and CEO of Zero Zero Robotics. “As the official flying cameras of US Ski & Snowboard, we’re excited to capture these incredible performances, bringing fans closer to the action with stunning new perspectives.”
For those looking to capture their own adventures, the X1 Pro and Pro Max are available to buy now for $499 and $699, respectively. Fans at the Toyota US Grand Prix can also explore the technology firsthand through HOVERAir’s on-site demos.
