DJI has introduced a new firmware update for its Zenmuse H30 and H30T payloads, which are designed specifically for the Matrice 300 RTK and Matrice 350 RTK drone platforms. The update enhances the capabilities of these multi-sensor payloads in a range of complex aerial operations.
The Zenmuse H30 series is frequently deployed in fields such as public safety, energy inspection, and environmental monitoring due to its robust zoom, thermal imaging, and night vision functionalities. With firmware version 10.02.0804, DJI has added several critical improvements for both models in the series.
Notably, the update includes support for adjusting the night scene mode in SBS (Side-by-Side) view on the zoom camera, optimizing nighttime clarity and precision. Additionally, the H30T’s infrared thermal camera now boasts refined zoom adjustments, allowing operators to switch more smoothly between wide-angle and close-up views even in low-light conditions. This adjustment is crucial for tasks that require high-definition thermal images, such as fire surveillance or search-and-rescue missions.

Moreover, the update introduces an IR Temperature Calibration feature, enabling professionals to perform on-the-spot calibration of temperature readings — a feature that bolsters reliability in crucial applications like industrial inspections. DJI advises that this calibration should be handled under professional guidance to ensure accuracy and safety.
To apply the firmware update, users need to upgrade the aircraft firmware (v10.01.0805 for Matrice 350 RTK and v60.01.0806 for Matrice 300 RTK), DJI RC Plus remote controller (v05.02.1301), and the DJI Pilot 2 app (v10.1.8.16) along with the Zenmuse H30 payload. DJI recommends updating all components concurrently to avoid compatibility issues and ensure seamless operation.
The Zenmuse H30 series stands out with its wide-angle and high-power zoom capabilities, which support up to 34x optical and 400x digital zoom, a laser rangefinder with a 3 km range, and the NIR (Near-Infrared) auxiliary light. For the H30T, an advanced uncooled VOx microbolometer sensor offers infrared thermal imaging, enhancing low-light performance and providing vital temperature data.
