Here’s what the latest DJI Fly app update fixes and adds

Tech giant DJI has released a fresh update to its DJI Fly app, bringing new features and improvements for drone enthusiasts. Version 1.16.0 introduces compatibility with DJI’s latest compact drone, the DJI Flip, alongside some behind-the-scenes tweaks for smoother performance.

DJI Fly app update: What’s new

One of the standout additions in this update is support for the Flip drone. DJI Fly app now integrates seamlessly with this new drone, allowing users to control it using DJI RC-N3, DJI RC-N2, DJI RC 2 remote controllers, or even directly via mobile devices. This compatibility expands how users can operate their drones, giving them greater flexibility.

Weighing under 249 grams, the DJI Flip drone boasts foldable, full-coverage propeller guards for ultra-safe and reliable flying. With a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, it captures stunning 48MP photos and 4K videos effortlessly at the tap of a button. Thanks to its comprehensive protection features, even beginner pilots can confidently explore the skies with the DJI Flip.

Its compatibility with existing DJI remotes further strengthens its appeal, making it easier for current DJI users to switch between drones without investing in additional hardware.

Beyond adding support for the Flip, DJI reports that the update addresses “certain issues” and optimizes overall app performance. While specifics aren’t provided, these adjustments are likely aimed at improving stability and user experience across supported drones.

While not groundbreaking for all users, this update is an essential step in ensuring the DJI Fly app stays up-to-date with DJI’s expanding product lineup. Supporting new devices like the Flip and improving app performance reflects DJI’s commitment to evolving alongside user needs.
