DJI enhances two popular drones with firmware releases

DJI has rolled out new firmware updates for two of its more recent, popular drones: the DJI Flip and the DJI Air 3S.

The DJI Flip, introduced earlier this month, is a compact, foldable drone weighing less than 249 grams. Designed with beginners in mind, it features foldable full-coverage propeller guards, ensuring ultra-safe and reliable flying. The drone is equipped with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing impressive 48MP photos and recording 4K/60fps HDR videos. Its lightweight design and advanced safety features make it an ideal choice for novice pilots looking to explore aerial photography.

On the other hand, the DJI Air 3S, launched in October 2024, is tailored for travel photography enthusiasts. This advanced dual-camera drone boasts a 1-inch CMOS primary camera and a 70mm medium tele camera, each offering up to 14 stops of dynamic range. Both cameras support the new Free Panorama feature, allowing for flexible shooting-range selections to capture landscapes, architecture, and more in stunning detail. The Air 3S also introduces nightscape obstacle sensing and precise next-gen Smart RTH (Return-to-Home) features, ensuring effortless peace of mind during nighttime photography sessions.

The recent firmware updates, v01.00.1100 for the DJI Flip and v01.00.0800 for the DJI Air 3S, primarily focus on fixing known issues to enhance overall performance and stability. While these updates do not introduce major new features, they reflect DJI’s ongoing dedication to improving user experience and addressing any operational concerns promptly.
