DJI Flip drone gets performance tune-up with new firmware update

DJI has rolled out a fresh firmware update for the Flip drone, bringing essential fixes to enhance flight stability and overall reliability. While the update doesn’t introduce major new features, it addresses some known issues, ensuring that pilots get a smoother flying experience.

The latest DJI Flip aircraft firmware (v01.00.1200) pairs with Fly app version 1.16.4 to optimize performance. Users flying with DJI RC 2, RC-N2, or RC-N3 controllers should also update their remote firmware to maintain seamless compatibility.

Firmware updates might not always come with flashy new features, but they play a crucial role in keeping drones at peak performance. By ironing out software issues, this latest update aims to deliver a more stable flight experience — especially useful for pilots capturing cinematic shots or navigating tricky environments.

DJI advises users to check their camera settings after updating, as the process resets configurations to default. If the update fails, restarting the drone, remote controller, and DJI Fly app before retrying is recommended.

Even as DJI polishes the software experience, the Flip drone remains a favorite among users looking for a compact yet capable aerial tool. Its lightweight design, intuitive controls, and 4K video capabilities make it a reliable choice for content creators and casual fliers alike. With intelligent flight modes like FocusTrack and QuickShots, it allows users to capture dynamic footage effortlessly.

DJI Flip also scores because of its versatility in flight control. Whether you prefer traditional remote piloting, palm takeoff, or hands-free voice control, the Flip adapts to your style. It supports multiple remote controllers, allowing seamless switching between different devices, and even offers app-based control for quick takeoffs and cinematic shots on the go. This flexibility makes it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced pilots, ensuring that no matter how you prefer to fly, the Flip delivers a smooth and responsive experience.
