For professionals running continuous, mission-critical drone operations, Singapore-based Volarious has introduced the latest upgrade in its tethered flight lineup: the V-Line Pro for the DJI Matrice 4 drone series. This newest addition to the V-Line Pro, which already supports older DJI enterprise drones, brings tethered power capabilities to DJI’s most advanced industrial platforms — the Matrice 4E and 4T.
These drones are part of DJI’s flagship enterprise lineup, commonly used in high-demand scenarios like surveillance, event monitoring, public safety, and search and rescue. While powerful, their flight time has been limited by battery life — until now.
The V-Line Pro allows the drone to stay tethered up to 70 meters high — about 30 stories — using a lightweight, aviation-grade cable. This isn’t your average spool of wire. It’s smart. Really smart.
The system includes a responsive smart tension feature, which lets the drone ascend or descend at speeds up to 7 meters per second, keeping the cable taut and secure even in windy conditions. And setup? It’s designed to be quick and easy, requiring just one person and under two minutes to get airborne.
What’s impressive is how much tech is packed into this box. The V-Line Pro includes six temperature sensors and nine cooling fans, all part of an Advanced Thermal Control system that keeps things running smoothly. It’s built to work with various power sources, and when paired with a 2 kWh AC battery, the drone can stay in the air for up to 10 hours.
For anyone managing a busy aerial operation, this is a huge deal.
Moreover, there’s no need for extra gear or laptops. With the V-Assist app, users can monitor all tether system data right from the drone controller. Volarious is also planning add-on software to further boost drone functionality, making this system a serious upgrade for professionals.
