DJI Mic 3 leaks fully ahead of August 28 launch

Just days before its official launch, DJI’s upcoming Mic 3 wireless microphone system has leaked fully —complete with pricing, features, and box contents — after surfacing on US and European retail websites.

New: DJI Mic 3 now available to buy in US, price starts at $99

Incidentally, DJI has just teased the product on its social media channels. The official announcement is slated for August 28, 2025, at 8 a.m. EDT, accompanied by the tagline “Performance That Speaks.” Teaser visuals show four compact, shadow-cloaked transmitters with glowing green status LEDs, alongside a receiver boasting a color display, rotary dial, and icons for four synced transmitters — hinting at powerful multi-channel artistry.

DJI Mic 3: What’s in the box?

And beyond the box, the Mic 3 offers pro-level features that redefine wireless audio workflows:

  • 4 TX + 8 RX capacity: Record up to four sources simultaneously and sync audio to eight receivers — ideal for complex, multi-camera setups.
  • Adaptive Gain: Automatically balances changing sound levels on the fly, keeping audio clean whether you’re in quiet or noisy environments.
  • Dual-level Noise Reduction: The receiver intelligently filters ambient noise with two reduction levels.
  • Dual-Channel Anti-Interference: Automatic 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz band switching ensures stable transmission up to 400 meters.
  • 32-bit Floating-Point Recording: Capture an enormous dynamic range; no more clipping or overly quiet audio in challenging scenes.
  • Charging Case with 28-Hour Battery Life: Keep transmitters and receiver fully charged and protected during long recording days.

The system looks tailor-made for content creators, vloggers, and anyone needing pristine, multi-source sound with unparalleled flexibility.

A look back: The DJI Mic family evolves

To fully grasp the leap Mic 3 represents, a quick history:

  • DJI Mic: DJI’s first wireless lav mic system, providing reliable audio with a simple design.
  • DJI Mic 2: A pro-grade workhorse known for its reliable 32-bit float recording, dual-track “safety” feature, long battery life (up to 14 hours with charging case), and solid range—quickly becoming a favorite for drone and field shooters.
  • DJI Mic Mini: A compact and more budget-friendly sibling to Mic 2, offering essential features in a lighter form factor.
  • DJI Mic 3: Positioned as the evolution: marrying Mic Mini’s portability with Mic 2’s pro-level feature set — and expanding it with 4TX/8RX, greater interference handling, adaptive gain, dual-level noise suppression, and vastly improved battery life.

Mic 3 is poised to be the most ambitious mic kit DJI has ever delivered — built for modern creators demanding flexibility, fidelity, and multi-channel control. Will it deliver on that promise when the curtain lifts? We’ll find out one week from today.
