DJI has just released a new firmware update, version v01.00.09.00, for its high-capacity portable power station, the Power 1000 V2, bringing “improved stability” and fixes for several “known issues.”
This release is the latest development around the Power 1000 V2, which DJI first unveiled in mid-2025. The unit boasts serious specs: 1,024 Wh capacity, a continuous output of 2,600 W, very fast recharge times (full in ~56 minutes; 80% in ~37), and the ability to expand capacity with up to five extra 2,048 Wh batteries. Additional highlights include high solar/car charging input, ruggedized build, fast-charging of DJI drone batteries, and a built-in UPS mode.
However, US consumers will want to temper their excitement: despite all the features, the Power 1000 V2 has not yet been released in the United States. The original announcement made clear it’s available in Canada, Europe, Asia, and other markets — but not in the US. Legal and customs issues have been alluded to, suggesting import and regulatory constraints are part of the reason DJI isn’t selling the device in the US at this time.
For those outside the US, the firmware update is a welcome improvement, bringing enhanced reliability. For US watchers, it’s a reminder: even as DJI improves the product via software, it remains unavailable for purchase stateside. That said, DJI hasn’t completely abandoned the US power market. If you’re looking for reliable, portable energy, here are three options currently available:
- DJI Power 500: Compact 512Wh model for light use and short trips
- DJI Power 1000: The original version with solid 1,024Wh capacity and fast charging.
- DJI Power 2000: A high-capacity 2,048Wh station designed for extended use, solar charging, and emergency preparedness
Along with the new DJI Power 1000 V2 firmware update comes instructions for troubleshooting in case updating fails. These steps include disconnecting all devices, powering off, then holding both the AC and power buttons while reconnecting to a computer via USB-C before retrying via DJI Assistant 2 (Power Series).
