DJI Pocket 3 gets massive discount amid Pocket 4 buzz

DJI’s pocket-sized vlogging powerhouse just got a serious price drop. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3, a fan-favorite among travel vloggers and solo shooters, is enjoying a 32% discount right now, dropping its price from $799 to $543. But the timing couldn’t be more interesting: new leaks hint that DJI’s next-gen Osmo Pocket 4 could be right around the corner.

So, should you hold out for the upgrade or grab the deal while it lasts? Let’s break down what’s known so far, and why the Pocket 3 might actually be the smarter buy right now.

What the leaks say about the DJI Osmo Pocket 4

A new image, allegedly snapped during a DJI promo shoot in Barcelona, is fueling fresh speculation. The photo shows what appears to be a dual-camera Osmo Pocket 4, with a familiar 3-axis gimbal, a rotatable display, and a new set of buttons right below the screen.

Those extra controls — replacing the “Osmo” branding on the current model — could be shortcuts for things like focus, mode switching, or gimbal movement. Handy if you’re shooting solo.

Earlier leaks hinted at a large 1-inch CMOS sensor (possibly Hasselblad-tuned), 4K at 240 fps, and ActiveTrack 7.0 powered by depth data from the dual-camera setup. If true, that’s a serious leap for a pocket camera.

Still, don’t count on a quick release. DJI usually follows a two-to-three-year refresh cycle for this product, and there’s been no FCC filing or official teaser yet. Some analysts say we may not see the Pocket 4 until late 2026.

And there’s another wild card: the US market. With ongoing government scrutiny and potential import restrictions, DJI’s product launches have become increasingly uncertain. A future Pocket 4 may not even hit US shelves when (or if) it finally arrives.

Why the Pocket 3 still holds its own

The Osmo Pocket 3 is far from outdated. Launched in October 2023, it marked a major step up for the Pocket line:

  • A 1-inch sensor capable of gorgeous 4K/120 fps footage
  • A 2-inch rotatable OLED screen — perfect for selfies or high-angle shots
  • 10-bit D-Log M and HLG video, giving you that cinematic flexibility
  • ActiveTrack 6.0, DJI’s reliable subject tracking tech.
  • And solid audio, thanks to a three-mic array and support for DJI Mic series wireless setups.

Even better: DJI hasn’t let this little camera stagnate. Over the past two years, the company’s rolled out a string of firmware updates that have made the Pocket 3 even better.

For instance, a May 2024 update added FPV gimbal mode and 4K live-streaming capabilities. A Februray 2025 firmware introduced a new “Med-Tele” mode for flattering portraits, focus-breathing compensation, and even enabled D-Log M color profiles in webcam mode — a big win for streamers and creators who shoot live.

In short, the Pocket 3 today is a much smarter, more capable camera than the one that launched two years ago.

So, let’s be honest… the Pocket 4 leaks are exciting, but they’re also just leaks. Meanwhile, the Pocket 3’s current 32% discount makes it the best deal it’s ever seen in the Trump-tariff era.

And with DJI’s uncertain standing in the US, there’s no telling whether the Pocket 4 will even make it here anytime soon. For creators looking to upgrade now, the Pocket 3 offers pro-grade quality, firmware-enhanced performance, and gimbal stabilization that still outclasses most smartphones. Plus, once supply starts to thin out, these deals may vanish.

Sure, the rumored Pocket 4 might bring dual cameras and fancy new buttons. But for anyone filming travel reels, product reviews, or cinematic B-roll on the go, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is still the real deal. And now, it’s a steal.
