DJI is quietly making its newest wireless microphone system even better. The company has rolled out a fresh firmware update for the Mic 3, bringing small but meaningful quality-of-life improvements aimed at creators who rely on clean, reliable audio for videos, interviews, and social content.
The new firmware, v02.00.08.10, doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it sharpens an already capable audio tool in ways that matter during real-world use. One of the most noticeable additions is a Lossless Audio status icon on the receiver’s home screen. For creators recording critical dialogue or interviews, this visual indicator makes it easier to confirm that the highest-quality audio mode is active at a glance. It’s a subtle tweak, but one that reduces guesswork when you’re moving fast on set.
DJI has also expanded the Mimo app control when the receiver is connected to a camera via the hot shoe. Previously, app-based adjustments were more limited in this setup. With the update, users can fine-tune settings directly in the Mimo app even while the receiver is mounted on a camera, making it easier to adjust audio levels or configurations without interrupting a shoot.
Another welcome fix targets a common post-production pain point. DJI says the firmware improves stability when copying files to Mac computers, addressing occasional hiccups some users experienced when transferring recordings. If you’re regularly offloading audio after long shoots, this alone could save time and frustration.
Beyond those changes, DJI notes that the update also fixes some known issues, continuing the company’s pattern of refining performance after launch rather than leaving early adopters hanging.
The firmware update builds on what already makes the DJI Mic 3 appealing. The system is designed for creators who want high-quality wireless audio without bulky gear. It’s compact, camera-friendly, and flexible enough for solo creators, vloggers, podcasters, and small production teams. With clip-on transmitters, internal recording as a safety backup, and broad compatibility with cameras, smartphones, and computers, Mic 3 fits neatly into modern content workflows.
Timing also works in buyers’ favor. For the first time since launch, the DJI Mic 3 is available at a discount across all major configurations. The DJI Mic 3 Transmitter, usually priced at $99, is currently $84. The 1 TX + 1 RX kit has dropped from $219 to $169, while the 2 TX + 1 RX kit with Charging Case is down from $329 to $259.
For creators who have been waiting for a sign to jump in, this firmware update, combined with the first-ever price drop, makes a strong case.
