Tech giant DJI has released the latest update to its drone flying app, DJI Fly. Version 1.15.0 of the app enhances user experience with key features and expanded compatibility. Central to this update is the addition of support for the newly released DJI Air 3S drone, a model known for its advanced travel photography features.
With a robust camera system designed to capture more detailed and vibrant images than DJI’s flagship photography drone Mavic 3 Pro, the Air 3S is gaining attention among content creators and hobbyists alike. It features a 50 MP wide-angle camera alongside a 1/1.3-inch 3x medium tele camera. Both cameras boast up to 14 stops of dynamic range, allowing them to capture finer details in scenes with challenging lighting conditions.

DJI Fly app’s latest update allows the Air 3S to be compatible with various remote controllers, including the DJI RC-N3, DJI RC-N2, and DJI RC 2. This wide compatibility means users have the flexibility to choose from a range of controllers that best suit their flying style. For existing DJI customers with one of these controllers, upgrading to the Air 3S becomes a more straightforward process, as it can be integrated without the need for additional purchases.
Another new feature in this update is the ability to download files in the background when using QuickTransfer. This enhancement allows users to multitask while their media files transfer to their devices, making it more convenient to manage and share high-resolution photos and videos. It is particularly useful for users capturing extensive aerial footage, as it reduces downtime between shoots.
