DJI’s brand-new Osmo 360 camera has already received its first firmware update, and it’s a big one. If you’ve just unboxed the camera, chances are the first thing you’ll need to do is install firmware version v01.01.06.20 to unlock the device’s full potential.
This initial update supercharges the Osmo 360 with powerful new features, including a stunning SuperNight mode for 360-degree video. You can now shoot in 8K or 6K at 24/25/30fps with enhanced color performance, even in ultra-low light. From moody city streets to star-lit landscapes, Osmo 360 is equipped to handle nighttime scenes with clarity and vibrancy.
Another major feature is Endurance Mode, which significantly extends battery life. To activate it, switch to Panoramic Video mode, tap the parameter icon on the right, and select Endurance Mode. It’s a huge plus for travelers and creators who want to shoot longer without swapping batteries.
Also included in this update is the ability to switch between high and standard bitrate settings, giving users better control over video quality and storage space. Whether you’re optimizing for detail or managing memory, this flexibility adds another layer of usability.
Video creators will appreciate the added support for 5K recording at 50/60fps in 4:3 aspect ratio using the Single Lens > Video mode — ideal for capturing action with buttery-smooth motion and a more classic frame.
And in a nod to active users, DJI has added support for the Osmo Action GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller, allowing for hands-free, GPS-enhanced operation. Mount it, ride it, hike with it — now with more control at your fingertips.
The update also brings improved panoramic video detail and general stability enhancements, ironing out early bugs for a smoother user experience overall.
If you’re using the DJI Mimo app (version 2.3.0 on iOS and Android), you’ll be prompted to update the firmware upon connecting your Osmo 360. It’s an essential first step for unlocking all the new tricks this tiny 360-degree titan has to offer.
