DJI has rolled out a new firmware update for its flagship Osmo 360 camera, giving creators and hobbyists alike a smoother, more intuitive shooting experience. The update brings a clever new shooting shortcut, boosted 8K video quality, and richer color performance — making one of the most popular 360° cameras on the market even more capable.
New firmware update brings Twist Shot
Firmware v01.01.06.41, paired with the refreshed DJI Mimo app (v2.4.0 and above), introduces Twist Shot — a feature that lets users take a photo or start recording simply by twisting the selfie stick twice. No buttons, no screen taps, just a quick twist. To turn it on, enter live view, swipe down from the top, swipe left, and tap the Twist Shot icon. It’s fast, intuitive, and perfect for moments when you want to capture the action without breaking your flow.
Sharper panoramas, smoother 8K
The update also improves panoramic video quality for 8K recording at 48/50fps, delivering crisper detail and smoother motion — ideal for creators pushing content to VR platforms or viewers who demand cinematic-quality immersion.
For color-grading enthusiasts, D-Log M mode now offers improved color reproduction and finer detail, allowing for even better results in post-production. And as with every good update, DJI has quietly squashed a few bugs behind the scenes.
With its dual 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensors, 8K/50fps capture, and a rugged, weather-resistant body that thrives in real-world shooting scenarios, the Osmo 360 camera has been winning rave reviews. This firmware update keeps the camera feeling fresh and competitive, showing DJI’s commitment to continuous improvement rather than one-and-done releases.
For travelers, vloggers, and action sports enthusiasts, Twist Shot is a small feature that solves a big problem: fiddling with controls when timing is critical. Combined with sharper panoramas and richer colors, the update ensures the Osmo 360 stays ahead of the curve.
