FCC filing for the DJI Osmo Pocket Wireless Module

Late last night, an FCC filing appeared for the DJI Osmo Pocket Wireless Module. As the FCC website has been down the entire morning we currently do not have a lot of information on this new DJI device. Of course, many people are speculating that it may have something to do with the black device we see in the bottom left corner of this image. Could it be that DJI is working on an improved, smaller version of the Osmo? It sure seems like it.

DJI Osmo Pocket Wireless Module

Currently, when you go to FCC website to find out more about the DJI Osmo Pocket Wireless Module you get this message:

“There has been an issue connecting to the database. The bells are ringing and alarms are sounding. Please try again in a few short minu[t]es and hopefully the problem will be resolved.SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory”

This prevents us from getting any more information about the new device. However, it does seem that DJI is working on a new Osmo device as both camera and sensor technology have improved since the original Osmo was released. What the exact functionality will be of the DJI Osmo Pocket Wireless Module remains to be seen, but we will be sure to update this post when new information emerges.

Late last summer, this document surfaced that announced the ‘End-of-Life’ for a number of DJI products, including the Osmo.

Update: The site is back online at 11:20 am EST. The filing was submitted for SZ DJI Osmo Technology Co., Ltd. on 07/24/2018 and the usual short-term (secrecy cycle: 45 days) confidential treatment of information was requested. No photos of the actual device were found in the filing other than these diagrams below.
