DJI just introduced a new lower-priced kit for their popular Ronin-S gimbal. Previously the Ronin-S came with the Standard Kit for $749. As of today, you can buy the Ronin-S with the new Essentials Kit for a mere $499. This kit still gives you everything you need to get started with your photography or videography hobby or work but allows you to get in at a lower price point. You can buy the accessories that you’re missing out on separately at a later point in time. For instance, the Ronin-S Focus Wheel can be bought for $59.
Introducing the Ronin-S Essentials Kit
From DJI’s announcement:
“Since the launch of the Ronin-S, an ever-growing lineup of accessories has enhanced the user filmmaking experience. With this in mind, DJI is proud to announce the Ronin-S Essentials Kit, ensuring that more creators can realize their vision while capturing smooth footage from their cameras. With several interfaces built into the Ronin-S, the Essentials Kit includes camera-supported accessories, control equipment, and extended accessories, allowing users to determine the best accessories for their particular camera setup.”
The items that are NOT included in the Essentials Kit are: the Focus Wheel, RSS IR Control Cable, Multi-Camera Control Cable (Type-C), Multi-Camera Control Cable (Type-B), Extended Grip Metal (the Essentials Kit includes a plastic version), 24W USB Power Adapter, Accessories Box, 2 Allen Wrenches, Hook-and-Loop Strap for cable.
If you decide to start out with the Ronin-S Essentials Kit instead of the pricier Standard Kit, you can buy the accessories that you’re missing out on separately at a later point in time. For instance, the Ronin-S Focus Wheel can be bought for $59.
It seems like a smart move on DJI’s part to offer the Ronin-S gimbal at a lower price point with the ‘essentials’ anybody would need to get started. A lower price point makes this popular gimbal accessible to more people.
You can see the differences between both kits in the table below.
