Challenge accepted — lighter and smarter DJI gimbal coming

Yesterday DJI’s official Twitter account released a sneak peek video of an upcoming lightweight camera stabilizer, the DJI Ronin SC, which will be announced during the “Challenge Accepted” event on July 17. This marks the first addition to DJI’s professional gimbal line since the DJI Ronin S’ release back at CES 2018.

New Ronin-S firmware released by DJI – v1.8.0.70

Yesterday, DJI released new Ronin-S firmware. The new firmware update (v1.8.0.70) brings you a number of new features. For instance: various focus speed settings for Nikon, Canon and Panasonic cameras, photo capture, video recording, autofocus, and focus pull support for Canon EOS 6D Mark II, Canon EOS R and Nikon Z6 cameras with supported lenses. Similar features for Sony A7M3 and A7R3 cameras and more. Unfortunately, I don’t have a Ronin-S to check out these new features but this seems like a pretty big firmware update to me. DJI Ronin-S gets a firmware update – v1.6.0.50

Earlier this week DJI released a firmware update for their Ronin-S gimbal. The new firmware, for instance, brings the option to set the zoom speed for Sony cameras, adds 3D Roll 360 and Auto Roll 360 features for some very creative video shots. Furthermore, it brings new features for cameras such as the Panasonic GH3, GH$, GH5, GH5S, Nikon Z7, Canon 1DX Mark II, and the 5D Mark IV. For all the details see below.
