DJI’s Jan Gasparic reinforces customer’s data security
DJI Director of Strategic Partnerships, Jan Gasparic made these remarks in a short interview with Connell McShane that was aired on FOX Business Network’s(FBN) After the Bell on Tuesday.
On whether the Chinese government has access to consumers’ data and privacy concerns, he said:
“Let me just state emphatically that is not true. Data – our customers’ data is theirs and theirs alone. We – it’s our perspective that data is not our business, our business is all about producing drones.”
Gasparic elaborated a bit more on data security and what DJI customers who don’t wish to have their data seen by anyone can do in the following segment:
GASPARIC: The fact is that your data sits on the drone itself, that’s fundamental.
MCSHANE: But does it automatically come back to you?
GASPARIC: No.
GASPARIC: Unless there’s a specific reason for an after sales service request, that’s the only time that you would potentially share any data with DJI.
MCSHANE: OK.
GASPARIC: The data stays on the drone, like we don’t really do anything with – we don’t have any access to it.

It certainly is a boon for DJI to get some positive privacy coverage on President Trump’s favorite network.
Btw – A far more detailed explanation of how you can prevent any data from being shared with DJI, can be found in DJI’s presentation and white paper: “Elevating Safety.”
