Insta360 has stirred up excitement with a mysterious teaser video for its upcoming camera, taking a jab at competitors in the process. With the tagline “The Real Pro,” the teaser hints at a camera that aims to challenge both GoPro devices and DJI’s latest Action 5 Pro offering. So, could this be the Ace Pro 2?
The teaser video (below) opens with a laid-back scene: a man sits comfortably on his sofa, sipping a hot drink while casually inspecting a small, GoPro-like action camera. The peaceful moment doesn’t last long, as a new, unidentified Insta360 camera suddenly blasts into view. As the camera zooms through a chaotic atmosphere, braving extreme elements like rain, wind, and debris, it demonstrates the durability and ruggedness that action camera users crave.
The suspense builds as the camera breaks through the walls of the man’s living room, smashing the competing device in a dramatic moment that speaks volumes about Insta360’s confidence in their new product’s strength.
Though the teaser doesn’t reveal much about the camera’s specs, it suggests that Insta360 is focusing on improving durability. The Ace Pro, released nearly a year ago, featured a large image sensor developed in partnership with Leica, a flippable rear touchscreen, and 4K video recording at 120fps. It also boasted the innovative Clarity Zoom feature and an industry-leading 8K recording capability, which set it apart from GoPro and DJI.
Yet, with action camera giants releasing yearly updates, it seems likely that Insta360 is stepping up to match the pace. Whether the upcoming camera will feature new sensor technology or additional enhancements still remains a mystery. But fans won’t have to wait long as the full reveal is set for 9 am EDT on October 22, 2024.
