DJI Goggles N3: Budget-friendly FPV gear for Neo, Avata 2 drones?

The much-anticipated DJI Goggles N3 has just made an appearance on the US FCC database, confirming its existence and stirring excitement among FPV enthusiasts. Leaks from various sources suggest that this new headset could be a game-changer, providing a more budget-friendly entry into the FPV world without sacrificing core features.

The DJI Goggles N3 is rumored to be a single-screen design (often called box goggles) with individual viewing ports for each eye, combining elements from the earlier DJI FPV Goggles V1/V2 and the newer Goggles 3. This design makes them larger, like the V1/V2 models, but aims to offer a more comfortable fit for long flight sessions. Early leaks hint at a price tag of roughly $290, making them an affordable option for those new to the FPV hobby. Currently, Goggles 3 are available to buy for $499, while the more portable Goggle Integra can be scooped up for $349.

DJI O4 Air Unit

Alongside the Goggles N3, DJI is expected to introduce the O4 Air Unit, featuring mounting options that align with other popular FPV systems like the Walksnail Avatar HD VTX. The unit will likely support dual-band capabilities (2.4GHz & 5.8GHz) and include a 1/1.3-inch F2.0 camera sensor, ideal for capturing high-quality footage. A more affordable “Lite” version of the O4 Air Unit is also said to be on the horizon, though it may have fewer features.

DJI Goggles N3: Expanding compatibility for more FPV options

The DJI Goggles N3 is expected to support various DJI drones, including the new DJI Neo, Air 3S, and Avata 2. For pilots interested in custom builds, the compatibility with the O4 Air Unit offers additional flexibility.

Another exciting rumor is the launch of the DJI Neo Motion Combo, which includes the new Goggles N3, a DJI Neo FPV drone, and a Motion Controller. Likely priced at around ($570), this bundle could be a strong contender for those looking for a complete FPV kit at a reasonable price. With added accessories like three batteries, a two-way charging hub, and extra propellers, the package seems designed for extended flight sessions right out of the box.

Now, if these leaks are accurate, the DJI Goggles N3 and its associated products could help lower the entry barrier for aspiring FPV pilots. For those eager to dive into the world of FPV, the upcoming November launch of the Goggles N3 is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
