Denver’s holiday celebrations are about to soar to new heights with an incredible nightly drone light show presented by VISIT DENVER. Starting November 22, over 400 drones will perform breathtaking light displays above downtown Denver, continuing for 40 nights through New Year’s Eve.
In collaboration with the local company Brightflights Drone Shows, the displays will feature festive holiday animations and Denver-themed visuals, reaching 500 feet in the air and spanning up to 400 feet across.
Designed to be visible from many vantage points around the city, especially rooftop bars and restaurants, the drone shows will begin each evening at 7 p.m. Special shows are scheduled to kick off right before local sports events, adding extra excitement to holiday gatherings on December 2 for the Denver Broncos’ Monday Night Football game, December 25 for the Denver Nuggets, and December 31 for the Colorado Avalanche’s New Year’s Eve game.
Drones have increasingly become a popular choice for holiday entertainment worldwide, replacing fireworks with vibrant, environmentally friendly, and highly customizable displays. Cities like Los Angeles and New York have embraced the trend of drone light shows in recent years, showcasing colorful, animated drone formations during festivals and major holidays. Drone shows produce no smoke, reduce noise pollution, and can create complex visuals, making them ideal for urban settings and large crowds.
This season, Denver’s drone show joins a host of beloved holiday attractions, including the iconic Mile High Tree, Denver Christkindlmarket, and the Blossoms of Light at the Botanic Gardens. Visitors are encouraged to check the Mile High Holidays website for event updates and hotel promotions that allow them to experience the full array of Denver’s holiday magic.
