It’s once again Black Friday deal season, and the savings are already starting to come in a week before Black Friday is even here! If you’re in need of an upgrade to any of your storage solutions, now is the time to do it. Below is a guide to the best portable SSD Black Friday deals on Amazon!
Whether you’re looking for microSD cards for your drones, new monitors, TVs, or computers to edit your drone captures, or portable SSDs to keep the shoot going while on location, Black Friday is your time to get prepared for what 2025 has to offer.
While you’ll also find great deals on DJI or Autel drones, with all the upgrades you likely already made this year, it might be time to treat your storage solutions.
SanDisk
The staple for microSDs (those are on sale too, by the way), SanDisk also offers rugged portable SSDs for creators on the go. Ranging from 500 GB to 4 TB, their Extreme Pro Portable SSD features write speeds of up to 1 GB/s. Select capacities are currently up to 36% off on SanDisk’s Amazon storefront, which is $130 off!
Looking for something with a little more speed and extra protection? SanDisk Professional’s Pro-G40 Thunderbolt 3 SSD has write speeds of up to 2.5 GB/s. Its 1 TB model is 47% off for Black Friday shopping.
Lastly, for those who are looking to beef up their desktop external storage, SanDisk’s Desk Drive SSD is compact and can store up to 8 TB of data and is currently up to 32% off.
Lexar
Another go-to option for some when it comes to SD cards is Lexar. The company also has some great deals on slim and portable SSDs for when you’re on the go.
Lexar’s Armor 700 is the brand’s rugged portable SSD for those creating stunning shots in all environments. Featuring IP66 water and dust resistance, this little drive can read and write at speeds of up to 2 GB/s, making it a great option for direct recording to and editing off of while on the go. For Black Friday, you can save 33% on Lexar’s 4 TB model, making it $265 rather than nearly $400.
For those wanting something even lighter, both Lexar’s SL500 and ES3 are seeing discounts of 33% and 21% respectively. All three of these drives are high speed, although the ES3 is about half the speed of the Armor 700, but they are small enough to fit into your pocket.
Samsung
The champion of SSDs… and TVs, sound systems, monitors, and even SD cards too. Samsung SSDs have become a go-to for many looking for reliable and fast storage.
Samsung’s most popular portable drive, the T7, is seeing early Black Friday deals of up to 47% on the shielded version and 17% on the standard version. It really is worth paying the now only $30 extra to upgrade to a 4TB IP65 water and dust-resistant drive.
The T7 is my current daily driver for storing and editing photos and videos both at the office and on the go. While the speed is lower than similarly priced drives from Lexar and SanDisk, the reliability of Samsung’s drives has kept them as one of the top brands in the space.
Crucial
While you might primarily think of Crucial as a RAM producer, the company has some of the most capable and well-priced portable SSDs of the bunch.
You’ll see up to 36% off on the brands’ lower-end X6 and X9 products, but the X6 speeds don’t have high-resolution video editing or playback in mind. Meanwhile, the X9’s speeds are similar to Samsung’s T7 at only slightly lower pricing. However, a trade-off in brand reliability might not be worth the small price difference.
However, Crucial’s professional line of drives, the X10 Pro, offers up to 2 GB/s read and write speeds while also saving you up to 39% on select capacities. What Crucial’s current Black Friday offerings lack is margin at the high end. But if you’re in the market for 1 TB or 2 TB drives, these will be the best prices; however, we’ll keep this page updated if that changes.
