DJI Mavic 4 Pro leaks reveal game-changing drone upgrades

Tech giant DJI is once again generating buzz with leaks about its highly anticipated Mavic 4 Pro drone. If the rumors and leaked footage are to be believed, this drone promises to raise the bar for aerial photography and videography. Here’s what we know so far about this tech marvel — and why fans of its predecessor, the Mavic 3 Pro, are eager to get their hands on it.

What’s new with the Mavic 4 Pro?

According to leaks shared by trusted insiders like Jasper Ellens and Igor Bogdanov, the Mavic 4 Pro will feature a redesigned airframe and an all-new circular triple-camera module. This updated design is rumored to offer better aerodynamics, improved obstacle avoidance, and longer flight times — up to a whopping 50 minutes on a single charge.

One of the most exciting upgrades is the camera system. The Mavic 4 Pro is expected to feature three distinct zoom levels: 1x (24mm), 2.5x (50mm), and 6x (145mm). The cameras will likely support D-Log recording for professional-grade footage and perform impressively in low-light conditions thanks to a brighter f/2.0 aperture on the main lens. Additionally, vertical shooting capabilities — similar to DJI’s Air series — will cater to content creators embracing social media formats.

Visually, the Mavic 4 Pro’s updated design takes cues from the Mini 4 Pro. Its lowered rear airframe gives it a sleek, aggressive stance, while its lighter frame and advanced cooling system promise more efficient performance. Leaked footage also shows built-in ND filters, which will simplify shooting in bright conditions compared to the clip-on filters used in the Mavic 3 Pro.

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro already wowed drone enthusiasts with its 24mm wide camera, 3x medium telephoto, and 7x telephoto lenses. The Mavic 4 Pro’s upgraded 6x telephoto lens and narrower 28mm wide camera might stir debates among fans, but these changes aim to reduce distortion and improve low-light performance.

With its redesigned camera housing and new features like vertical shooting, the Mavic 4 Pro feels less like an iteration and more like a reimagining of what a professional drone can offer.

Leaks suggest DJI may announce the Mavic 4 Pro as early as March, with the product hitting the shelves in April 2025. Pricing is estimated to start at $2,800 for the “Classic” version, with the “Cine” version ranging between $4,000 and $5,000. While these price points represent a significant increase over the Mavic 3 Pro ($2,199 with DJI RC), the upgrades could justify the cost for serious photographers and filmmakers.

Basically, the Mavic 4 Pro is shaping up to be more than just a successor to the Mavic 3 Pro — it’s a leap forward. From enhanced flight times and improved cooling systems to professional-grade camera specs, this drone is designed for users who demand the best. Keep an eye out for official announcements in the coming months. Until then, the leaks will keep us dreaming of what DJI has in store!
