Insta360 GO Ultra is tiny, powerful, and shipping now

While drone enthusiasts buzz about Insta360’s emerging Antigravity aerial ambitions, creators who want a powerful, compact camera right now can stop waiting because the company’s latest offering, GO Ultra, is now available to buy in the US.

At just 53 g, the GO Ultra feels like a smartwatch yet delivers heavyweight imaging performance. It packs a 1/1.28-inch sensor (a 221% size jump), a cutting-edge 5 nm AI chip, and shoots ultra-smooth 4K/60fps video with enhanced low-light clarity via PureVideo technology.

“GO Ultra takes the advancements made with the Ace and X series cameras, and puts them into the type of compact, pocket camera our GO Series creators enjoy, opening up new creative opportunities without sacrificing portability,” says Max Richter, Insta360’s cofounder and VP of marketing.

And he’s not wrong. The camera comes with a built-in magnetic base, and supports accessories like Sticky Tabs, Magnet Pendant, and quirky mounts like the Toddler Titan Hat Clip that let you capture POV and third-person angles with ease.

Thanks to Bluetooth, live feed to the Action Pod’s flip screen makes it great for family moments or action sequences. The revamped Insta360 app elevates creativity with drag-and-drop editing, transitions, music, real-time Strava data overlays, and the AI Family Moments feature that builds virtual scrapbooks from your footage.

Compact, durable (IPX8-rated to 33 ft), and color calibrated via ambient light sensors, GO Ultra won’t hold you back. Battery longevity is impressive: 70 minutes standalone, 200 minutes with the Action Pod, with 80% charge in just 12 minutes. Its microSD slot supports up to 2 TB — a welcome upgrade over fixed-storage predecessors.

But the thing we are most excited about is that Insta360 GO Ultra is officially in stock and shipping. That contrasts sharply with recent DJI releases, such as the new Osmo 360, which remains available only through a handful of resellers in the US. Insta360 is clearly capitalizing on the gap.

The Standard Bundle is priced at $449.99 and includes GO Ultra (Standalone Camera and Action Pod) in either Midnight Black or Arctic White, a Quick Release Safety Cord, Magnetic Easy Clip, Magnet Pendant, USB-C cable, and a Lens Guard.
