Not every drone deal is worth getting excited about. This one is. DJI has slashed the Mini 3 to its lowest price ever, making it surprisingly affordable to own a drone capable of cinematic 4K footage, 38-minute flights, and social-media-ready vertical video.
The Mini 3 aircraft with the RC-N1 controller has just dropped by $100 to $319, marking its lowest price ever. For a drone that continues to punch well above its weight, that’s the kind of deal that doesn’t tend to stick around for long, especially as DJI products have become increasingly difficult to find in the US.
Despite being a couple of generations old, the Mini 3 still checks nearly every box that matters for beginners and casual creators. It weighs just 248 grams, keeping it under the FAA’s 250-gram registration threshold for recreational flyers. Yet it packs a surprisingly capable 1/1.3-inch camera sensor that can shoot crisp 4K HDR video and capture 48MP photos, delivering image quality that’s hard to match at this price.
One of its biggest strengths is battery life. The included Intelligent Flight Battery delivers up to 38 minutes of flight time in ideal conditions, significantly longer than many competing entry-level drones. If you later upgrade to the optional Battery Plus, that can stretch to an impressive 51 minutes, though it pushes the drone over the 249-gram mark.
The camera also rotates into True Vertical Shooting, making it incredibly easy to create Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts without awkward cropping. A three-axis mechanical gimbal keeps footage smooth, while Level 5 wind resistance means the Mini 3 remains surprisingly stable even when conditions aren’t perfect.
The version on sale includes DJI’s RC-N1 controller, which pairs with your smartphone instead of featuring a built-in display. While it’s a simpler setup than the pricier DJI RC controller, it also helps keep the overall cost down without sacrificing flight performance. The drone itself is identical.
Of course, the Mini 3 isn’t perfect. It lacks omnidirectional obstacle sensing and advanced subject tracking found on newer Mini models. If those features are essential, you’ll need to spend considerably more. But for first-time pilots, travelers, or anyone looking to capture vacation footage, family adventures, or weekend hikes from the air, those omissions are easier to overlook when the drone costs just over $300. That’s really what makes this deal so compelling.
