DJI Action 4 camera adds sports data, audio clarity

DJI has released a new firmware update for Osmo Action 4, packing in exciting features like the FOV Boost Lens and sports data import capabilities, making it an even more compelling choice for action camera enthusiasts. Coupled with compatibility with the newly launched Mic Mini and incredible Black Friday discounts on the device, this update offers more reasons to consider upgrading your adventure gear.

The standout addition in firmware v01.06.04.10 is the FOV Boost Lens that expands the Osmo Action 4’s FOV to 182°. With the same shooting parameters, the FOV increases by 26% in width and 24% in height when compared to the standard lens without the FOV Boost Lens. So, whether you’re documenting high-octane action like skiing or sweeping panoramas of nature, the FOV Boost Lens ensures a dramatic, professional-grade perspective. To activate it, simply attach the lens and toggle the feature in the system settings, making it an intuitive yet impactful upgrade.

Meanwhile, athletes and adventurers can now overlay sports metrics onto their videos, thanks to the new sports data import feature. This update supports syncing with popular fitness devices like Apple Watch, Huawei smartwatches, Garmin, and Coros. Whether it’s heart rate, speed, or elevation, these metrics can add a dynamic, personal touch to your adventure footage, turning every video into a more engaging story.

And for creators who need clear audio in compact setups, the new Osmo Action 4 firmware update adds support for the new $59 DJI Mic Mini. Designed for simplicity, the Mic Mini pairs with a single button press and ensures crisp sound quality, perfect for interviews, vlogs, or outdoor shoots. While it supports only one transmitter, the audio clarity and ease of use make it a valuable addition to any creator’s kit.

Right now, Black Friday discounts make the Osmo Action 4 even more tempting. This powerhouse of a camera is currently available for just $209, down from $300, making it the perfect time to level up your gear. Grab yours before the deal ends!
