After Mavic 4 Pro snub, DJI teases new drone launch for June 10

Editor’s Update: DJI unleashes Matrice 400, a beast of a drone

While American drone pilots are still scratching their heads over DJI’s decision to skip a US release for the Mavic 4 Pro, the tech giant has moved on to drop another surprise: a new drone teaser from its Enterprise division, slated for reveal on June 10 at 8 a.m. EDT.

The teaser carries the tagline “Engineered for Excellence, Designed for Versatility,” and shows what looks like a compact sensor housed under a clear dome.

This has sparked speculation that DJI is preparing to unveil the Matrice 400 drone that recently showed up on the US FCC database:

While the company hasn’t revealed much, the FCC filing for a “DJI M400A” strongly suggests what’s coming. Most notably, the label reveals a massive 20,254 mAh battery — a dramatic jump from the 5,880 mAh pack on the Matrice 350 RTK. That’s 977 Wh of energy, making this one of DJI’s most power-packed drones to date.

The Matrice 350 RTK is already a favorite for public safety, inspection, and mapping work. But with a significantly bigger battery and the promise of enhanced versatility, this new model could deliver longer flight times, more advanced sensors, and possibly rugged enhancements for tougher missions.

Further feeding the rumor mill, drone industry leaker Igor Bogdanov recently shared alleged images of the DJI Matrice 400. These images show a prominent new sensor mounted on the drone’s back, positioned under what looks like a protective dome — possibly a LiDAR scanner or radar sensor, as speculated by observers.

What’s more, the drone has also been spotted in the wild!

So, DJI may have disappointed consumer drone fans in the US with the Mavic 4 Pro no-show, but it’s clear the drone maker isn’t slowing down. With enterprise features like increased power, modular versatility, and potential sensor upgrades, the June 10 reveal could mark a major leap forward for industrial operators.

Stay tuned, DJI’s next chapter is just days away!
