DJI Mimo, Osmo 360 firmware updates fix warping, boost video

If you’re among the lucky few who own DJI’s new Osmo 360 camera or edit with the DJI Mimo app, there’s good news: both the app and the camera itself just got updates that address user complaints and unlock sharper panoramic footage.

The new DJI Mimo version 2.3.4 is now available for both iOS and Android, while the Osmo 360 firmware v01.01.06.30 simultaneously rolls out to the camera. Together, they bring much-requested fixes and meaningful quality upgrades that make panoramic video and low-light shooting smoother, sharper, and far more usable.

DJI Mimo app v2.3.4: Dewarping and more

The headline feature in the new app update is “Distortion Correction” for panoramic videos. Until now, users noticed that Osmo 360 footage suffered from warped edges — something Insta360’s cameras handled better. Creators even proved it was a software issue by running DJI clips through Insta360 Studio, where the same warping disappeared.

DJI clearly listened. Now, turning on distortion correction in Mimo (or in DJI Studio for desktop editors) straightens out vertical lines and eliminates distracting edge bending. The results are nearly identical to Insta360’s MegaView look, provided you don’t select DJI’s perspective presets. On desktop, resetting framing keeps the correction angle at 1 and field of view (FOV) at about 59°, which closely matches Insta360’s wide aesthetic.

On mobile, the feature is simplified: you get a big “dewarp” button in Mimo. Tap it, and your footage instantly straightens out. You can still pinch to widen the FOV, though the default on phones is a bit narrower than desktop. For now, creators who want that super-wide Insta360-style perspective must manually adjust. A dedicated preset would make things much easier.

Alongside dewarping, DJI Mimo 2.3.4 also introduces Master Filters for panoramic videos, letting you apply stylish color profiles with a tap. And for branding, you can now embed an “Osmo 360” watermark when exporting panos — useful if you’re publishing work online. The update also patches several lingering app bugs.

Osmo 360 new firmware: Better exposure, cleaner nights

While Mimo brings software editing upgrades, the DJI Osmo 360 camera itself just got smarter with firmware v01.01.06.30. Here’s what’s new:

  • Enhanced Panoramic Video Quality: DJI has fine-tuned auto exposure (AE) strategies and improved color rendering. This means skies, highlights, and shadows balance more naturally when capturing complex 360 scenes.
  • Improved SuperNight Video: Nighttime shooters benefit from optimized noise reduction and truer color rendering, producing cleaner low-light clips with less grain.
  • Bug Fixes: DJI has also patched smaller firmware glitches to improve overall reliability.

The Osmo 360 was already a capable performer in dark environments thanks to its dual 1-inch HDR sensors. Now, SuperNight mode should produce smoother, sharper clips without as much post-processing.

With both firmware and app updates dropping together, DJI is sending a clear message: it’s listening to early Osmo 360 adopters. Warping corrections, better exposure handling, and upgraded night video quality directly address the pain points that early users flagged.
