Chinese drone manufacturer High Great Innovation has introduced a new drone designed to make large-scale aerial light shows easier to deploy. Called the EMO Mini, the company says the new aircraft is the lightest outdoor formation drone in its class, weighing just 249 grams and combining storage, charging, and takeoff into a single transport case.
The Shenzhen-based company is targeting professional drone show operators rather than hobbyists. The EMO Mini carries a list price of $750 per drone, although that pricing applies only to bulk purchases of 2,100 units, underscoring its focus on large commercial fleets.
The biggest selling point isn’t just the weight; it’s the workflow. Instead of transporting drones, batteries, and charging equipment separately, operators can store, recharge, and launch every drone directly from its carrying case. High Great says the approach can reduce transportation and storage space requirements by up to 70%, helping companies set up and tear down shows more quickly.
At 249 grams, the drone also falls below the 250-gram threshold used by many aviation authorities worldwide, potentially simplifying transportation and regulatory compliance in several markets. However, prospective US buyers should keep expectations in check. Since High Great is a foreign drone manufacturer, it’s unclear whether the EMO Mini has obtained the FCC authorizations and other approvals typically required before being widely marketed or sold in the United States.
The company says the EMO Mini is built for repeated outdoor performances, allowing operators to run multiple shows with minimal downtime between flights. A minimum spacing of 0.8 meters between drones enables tighter formations and more intricate aerial animations, while dual-vision positioning and full-band RTK navigation are designed to keep every aircraft precisely aligned throughout the performance.
Outdoor reliability also appears to be a priority. The drone carries an IP53 rating for resistance to dust and light rain and includes a self-heating system for operation in colder conditions. Its 360-degree dual-light system is designed to deliver vivid full-color visuals that remain visible from multiple viewing angles.
High Great isn’t new to the drone entertainment business. The company says it has completed more than 30,000 drone shows across 300-plus cities, earning eight Guinness World Records along the way. Its drone fleets have also appeared at major global events, including the Paris Olympics, Osaka Expo, and the Beijing Winter Olympics.
As demand for synchronized drone light shows continues to grow worldwide, High Great is betting that making deployment faster and more portable could become just as important as creating brighter, more elaborate displays.
