In a post on Instagram, Chinese drone-maker DJI calls their “See the Bigger Picture” event their biggest announcement of the year. Of course, we all know what to expect on that day, the official introduction of the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and Pro models. The event can be followed live at live.dji.com (video) as it starts on August 23rd at 10 am EDT. So, be sure to tune in or follow the event here on DroneDJ.
It’s about time!
In their video, that also shows what seems to be the on/off button of the new Mavic 2 drone, DJI says that:
“For more than a decade we’ve taken the dimension of space to give you the freedom of flight. But, did you think we’d stop there? Let us take you beyond the horizon, where something incredible awaits. It’s about time.”
We couldn’t agree more with that last sentence in the DJI video. It sure is about time that the world’s leading drone maker shows us what they have in store for us. As you know the original event was scheduled to take place at the beginning of summer. We are now nearing the end of summer and I’m sure many of you are eager to order this new DJI drone and capture some beautiful summer landscape scenes before Fall kicks in. Hopefully, DJI will start taking orders on August 23rd and start shipping the new Mavic 2 Zoom/Pro soon after the event.
Btw – if this is DJI’s biggest event of the year, does that mean that we should not expect a Phantom 5 to be released this year? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
