Audi kicks off e-tron launch with 850 Intel Shooting Star drones in an indoor and outdoor light show

Last night in San Francisco, Audi kicked off the global launch of their new e-tron all-electric, five-passenger mid-sized SUV with an indoor and outdoor drone light show. The show consisted of a total of 850 Intel Shooting Star drones, 300 of which were part of the outdoor show that greeted the 1,600 guests who were brought in by boat from the Embarcadero to Richmond’s historic Craneway Pavilion. The remaining 550 drones put up a second shot that took place both indoors and outdoors to wow the audience.

Indoor and outdoor drone light show

The e-tron is Audi’s first fully electric SUV and understandably the German car manufacturer wanted to make a big splash. They had brought together many members of the press, including Fred from our sister site Electrek.co to witness the unveiling of the new SUV.

The show was charged with proud presentations, flashing lights, loud EDM music, the e-tron, and a drone light show that took place both outside and inside to top it all off. 550 Intel Shooting Star drones were part of the second indoor/outdoor light spectacle. In the photo below you can actually see the drone fly in front of the SUV.

You can watch the drone light show at the beginning of Audi’s video below. For more information about the e-tron, hop over to Electrek.co.
