Drone manufacturer Draganfly is enhancing the safety of its Commander 3XL aircraft line with the integration of parachute systems by ParaZero Technologies. The drone is used extensively in medical and emergency response operations, and having robust safety systems in place mitigates the risk of accidents significantly.
The Commander 3XL drone line is being used in projects such as Mass General Brigham’s Home Hospital UAV Delivery Pilot, one of the leading home healthcare initiatives in the US, and Canada’s Squamish Search and Rescue, which operates in one of the world’s busiest outdoor sporting and recreation regions. ParaZero‘s high-tech safety technology, meanwhile, has been incorporated in FAA waivers and type certifications, in addition to other regulatory approvals worldwide.
However, the integration of ParaZero into Draganfly’s Commander 3XL drones supports enhanced safety for flight operations over people and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS). The enhanced safety and reliability especially empower teams for varied missions, from aerial searches to medical supply deliveries in hard-to-reach areas.
“Working with ParaZero signifies our commitment to advancing drone safety and operational capabilities,” says Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly. “As we expand what drones can achieve in critical missions, ensuring the highest safety standards is paramount. Our work together will help us provide emergency responders with a safer, more reliable aerial support tool.”
Boaz Shetzer, CEO of ParaZero, adds, “Our shared vision for safer and more efficient drone operations in emergency and medical response scenarios will undoubtedly lead to better outcomes in critical situations where time and safety are of the essence.”
