Drone fleet and airspace management specialist Aloft Technologies has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide B4UFLY services.
Aloft is a top provider of LAANC (Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability) authorizations, widely used by both recreational and commercial drone operators in the National Airspace System (NAS). Since 2019, the company has worked closely with the FAA to redevelop B4UFLY, resulting in over 30 million airspace safety checks conducted through the platform.
This effort has been essential in promoting safe and compliant drone use across the US. “Our mission at Aloft has always been to innovate and provide airspace solutions that enable flight,” says Jon Hegranes, CEO and founder of Aloft. “Becoming an FAA-approved provider for B4UFLY services is a testament to our ongoing commitment to enhancing safety and compliance in the skies.”

Aloft plans to continue expanding its Air Aware platform, incorporating enhanced mapping features and LAANC functionality. The updated platform aims to provide individual drone pilots with an all-in-one toolkit for safe and compliant operations. Meanwhile, Aloft’s Air Control platform will remain focused on advanced airspace management for enterprise and government clients.
In partnership with Pilot Institute, Aloft will serve as the title sponsor for the Air Aware app, providing pilots with access to critical educational resources and tools to improve safe drone operations in the NAS. For LAANC services, Aloft has maintained its status as the top provider, processing over 1.5 million airspace authorizations to date, ensuring seamless access to controlled airspace for both hobbyists and professional pilots.
