Be prepared to spend big on DJI’s Mavic 4 Pro

It looks like we have a new leaker coming onto the scene, and they have some wild claims about what the Mavic 4 Pro will be able to do. While it seems like we should take this with a grain of salt, it looks like we have our first price leak for the Mavic 4 Pro, and yes, it will likely be more than before. But was that really a shock?

If you’re sitting and saving up to purchase what is expected to be the latest and greatest drone DJI has ever released, I sure hope you have been saving up plenty. The Mavic 3 Pro currently comes in at $2,199, with the Cine version coming in at $4,799. So whatever the Mavic 4 actually comes out as, it will likely be more than its predecessors.

Mauro Tandoi, a YouTuber and social media creator, is seemingly breaking into the leaking world. On his X account, he has been recently sharing images of similar parts of the coming Mavic 4 Pro that other leakers have shared; however, on his YouTube channel, he does have something no one else has shared: full specs.

The title of the video states the site is still being built, which likely means some of the information that is in place could be placeholders or just completely made up. Looking through some specs for the cameras and storage, this is likely the case. However, the price looks to be the only thing that doesn’t trip my “BS” meter.

Tandoi is claiming the new Mavic 4 Pro will cost ¥326999, which comes out to about $2,190.82 here in the States. US prices on DJI drones have been notorious for being pricier than those in other nations. The Yen is also valued much less than the US Dollar, which usually means you can buy a product cheaper in Japan than you can in the US. Then there are our friends the tariffs, which are about 10% for Chinese drones.

My guess, if Tandoi is correct, is to expect the price of the Mavic 4 Pro to be closer to $2,500 or even $3,000. For the Mavic 4 Cine? Your guess is as good as mine.

What else did Tandoi leak? Well, after that, most of the specs are just flat-out crazy and are likely not true given the laws of physics. One example was the camera sensors; Tandoi claims the Mavic 4 Pro’s main Hasselblad camera will be a medium format camera (how?), then both telephoto lenses will be full frame (physically not enough room). Finally, Tandoi states the shutter speed for all cameras would be 1/320,000, which would be the fastest shutter speed likely ever released on a consumer camera. Maybe they added an extra zero? But even that seems a bit high, but at least in the realm of possibility.

Usually a more solid price leak won’t come until the week before DJI releases the drone; that likely comes from stores posting their listings online before the embargo lifts. So this price shouldn’t be considered law yet, but it’s the start of more concrete leaks to come.
