Mavic 4 Pro Delayed? Leakers believe so

It’s been several months since DJI’s Mavic 4 Pro hit the FCC database, and from what we can tell, we could be seeing a release in late April if leakers are correct. However, some now think the drone will be delayed, but why?

First to comment on the Mavic 4 Pro’s timeline was newcomer Mauro Tandoi. In a recent post to X, Tandoi shared that he believed the Mavic 4 Pro’s release date would be on April 24, the last Thursday of the month. This does check out with previous launch dates, but there is not much else that supports the date.

The post with the calendar screenshot was to illustrate Tandoi’s point; he believes the drone’s release will be delayed. Around April 24, there are a slew of European holidays, which he says are filled with “long weekends” and “logistical challenges.”

Meanwhile, here in the US, April 24 is the Thursday after Easter, another big week of travel. However, are a few holidays enough for a company like DJI to delay its long-awaited Mavic 4 Pro release?

Personally, I don’t believe so, as DJI will likely have the Mavic 4 Pro shipped to warehouses well ahead of the product’s release so it’s available to purchase right away. However, given the unknown climate of getting those drones past customs, maybe the added delays of multiple holidays (that will see warehouse workers, government officials, and other important workers taking days off) mean Tandoi has a point?

A day later, long-time leaker Igor Bagdonov posted a rather cryptic post to X pertaining to the Mavic 4 Pro’s release date as well.

I wonder if the company will decide to postpone the M4P screening or leave the date as is :)

Originally posted in Russian, which is rare for Bagdonov, and without any explanation as to what “screening” meant. At this stage, we can only assume that this would be some sort of customs screening or final company screening before the drone is green-lit for release. However, we don’t know for sure.

Given that DJI won’t share the Mavic 4 Pro teaser on social media until at least a week out, a delay will likely never be shared publicly by DJI.

Given we could be likely just a month away from the leaked Mavic 4 release date, we have already seen an uptick in leaks. Bagdonov recently shared another product photo of the drone, showing DJI is already building product assets for its release. More specs and pricing leaks are expected to show up, and once big box retailers begin to post their listings early by accident, then you’ll know the release is truly near.
