Europe is getting a much bigger drone factory, and this one is focused on civilian work. ABZ Innovation has officially opened a new manufacturing facility in Szentendre, Hungary, which the company says is one of the largest dedicated civilian drone production sites in Europe. The expansion comes as demand grows for drones that can handle everything from agricultural spraying to industrial cleaning and cargo operations.
The new facility is roughly four times the size of ABZ Innovation’s previous production site. That extra space isn’t just for show: the company is targeting a threefold increase in production during 2026, followed by another doubling in 2027.
For a drone manufacturer focused on heavy-duty commercial applications, that’s a pretty significant ramp-up.
ABZ Innovation’s systems are already deployed in more than 40 countries across six continents. Its lineup covers four main product families: the L-Series for precision spraying, the S-Series for spreading seeds and granules, the C-Series for high-pressure industrial cleaning, and the M-Series for multifunctional cargo operations.
Agriculture remains a major part of the business. ABZ Innovation says its L-Series drones can reduce water usage by up to 90% and chemical inputs by up to 50% compared with conventional spraying methods. The idea is straightforward: instead of sending farm equipment through fields, operators can use drones to deliver treatments more precisely while potentially using fewer resources.
But industrial cleaning appears to be becoming an increasingly important piece of the company’s growth story. ABZ says its C-Series is currently its fastest-growing product line, as industrial operators look at drones as an alternative to slower, more labor-intensive cleaning methods.
And the company isn’t positioning the Hungarian facility simply as an assembly plant.
Szentendre will serve as ABZ Innovation’s global production hub, with the company emphasizing European manufacturing, data sovereignty and after-sales support. For professional drone operators, that last part can matter just as much as the aircraft itself. Training, spare parts and service infrastructure become increasingly important when fleets are being used for routine commercial operations rather than occasional flights.
“We are building not just drones, but a European platform designed for mission-critical civilian operations — with full data sovereignty and the after-sales infrastructure that professional users need to operate at scale,” says Károly Ludvigh, ABZ Innovation’s CEO and cofounder.
The company’s systems carry CE certification and FCC compliance, while its M-Series and C-Series have EU C4 and C5 certifications, respectively. ABZ Innovation also operates under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system.
The company has picked up several industry awards along the way, including recognition for its L50 agricultural spraying drone and C10 industrial cleaning drone. Its L30 LiDAR technology was also recognized at Hungary’s Innovation Grand Prize.
The expansion follows a €7 million ($8.2 million) investment round completed in January 2026. Vsquared Ventures, Day One Capital and Assembly Ventures participated in the round, with the funding earmarked in part for manufacturing expansion and international market development.
With the new facility now operational, ABZ Innovation is betting that the next phase of commercial drone growth won’t just be about making smarter aircraft. It will also be about building the manufacturing and service infrastructure needed to put those aircraft to work at scale.
