Censys launches Sentaero 6 drone: Smarter, faster, and built for BVLOS

Censys Technologies is taking drone operations to the next level with the launch of Sentaero 6, a cutting-edge system designed to push Over the Horizon Beyond Visual Line of Sight (OTH BVLOS) operations forward. Engineered with direct customer feedback and built with regulatory advancements in mind, this American-made drone is designed for inspections, mapping, and surveying tasks.

Back in 2021, Florida-based Censys started with BVLOS approvals that were limited to just three miles and required visual observers. Fast forward to today, and their Sentaero 5 can legally fly 40 miles one way — without needing eyes on the sky. Now, with the Sentaero 6, Censys is pushing even further to help drone operators unlock unparalleled efficiency and range.

“Now, the Sentaero is in a position of regulatory acceptance where operators can truly capture the value and efficiency of OTH BVLOS operations,” says Rob Knochenhauer, director of regulatory affairs at Censys Technologies. “What our clients and the industry need is a more capable aircraft to best capitalize on this trend. That’s why we developed Sentaero 6.”

For decades, companies conducting inspections, mapping, and surveying have been stuck with one aircraft per pilot and limited by human resources and airport locations. The Sentaero 6 breaks these barriers with:

  • 2-hour flight endurance for extended missions
  • Expanded payload capacity for more versatile applications
  • 115-mile Command and Control (C2) range for superior connectivity
  • Built-in AI and machine learning to process data in real time

These upgrades streamline operations and allow companies to gather more accurate, up-to-date intelligence on their assets faster than ever before.

The launch of the Sentaero 6 is just the beginning. In the coming months, Censys plans to expand its capabilities to support:

  • Swarm operations: One human, many drones
  • Fully remote operations: Fly from anywhere, no on-site pilot needed
  • Higher safety standards: ASTM-certified parachute for urban missions

As drone capabilities increase, so does the amount of data they collect. That’s why Sentaero 6 comes with an onboard computer running CensWise, a powerful AI/ML software platform that processes data mid-flight — turning raw information into actionable insights before the drone even lands.

“At Censys Technologies, we’re working to bring our customers closer to omniscience,” says Trevor Perrott, CEO of Censys Technologies. “With Sentaero 6, we’re not just offering a drone; we’re providing a comprehensive solution that gathers data, transforms it into intelligence, and enables users to predict and solve problems faster than ever.”

The Sentaero 6 is now available for preorder.
