DJI’s new $10K contest wants your best Avata 360 drone videos

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to take your FPV flying skills to the next level, DJI just gave creators a pretty compelling reason. The company has launched its new #AllForPassion Challenge, inviting Avata 360 users to capture their favorite sports and adventure moments for a chance to win up to $10,000.

With a total prize pool that includes one $10,000 grand prize, two $5,000 runner-up prizes, and five $1,000 third-place awards, the competition is one of DJI’s biggest creator challenges this year. And considering the growing popularity of immersive 360-degree action footage, the contest could attract some of the most creative drone videos of 2026.

The challenge runs through September 30, with winners set to be announced on October 28.

The concept is simple: film sports or action content using the DJI Avata 360, add the official “DJI AVATA 360 | ALL FOR PASSION” watermark, and publish the video on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or TikTok.

Eligible activities include everything from hiking and mountain biking to surfing, skiing, climbing, football, swimming, and virtually any other sport that showcases movement and excitement.

Creators must include the hashtags #allforpassion, #djiavata, and #avata360, then email their submission link to DJI at global-creator@dji.com with details including the platform, post link, and publication date. There’s no limit on entries, meaning creators can submit multiple videos throughout the competition.

The contest also serves as a showcase for DJI’s newest immersive FPV platform. Unlike traditional drones that capture only what the camera is pointed at, the Avata 360 records full 360-degree footage, allowing creators to reframe shots later without worrying about missing the action. That flexibility is especially valuable for fast-moving sports where riders, athletes, or vehicles can change direction in an instant.

The drone also combines DJI’s signature flight stabilization with immersive FPV flying, producing cinematic footage while maintaining the speed and agility needed for action sports. Features such as obstacle sensing, intelligent stabilization, and high-resolution video recording make it appealing to everyone from experienced FPV pilots to creators looking for dynamic social media content.

For outdoor adventurers, it essentially offers the freedom to focus on the experience first and choose the perfect camera angle afterward.

Interestingly, DJI isn’t simply looking for viral videos. Entries will be judged on three key criteria: video quality, creativity, and influence. That means a well-crafted, original video could compete with creators who have much larger audiences.

DJI also notes that participants retain copyright to their videos. However, by entering the competition, creators grant DJI a worldwide, perpetual license to use, edit, and share submitted content for promotional purposes while providing attribution. And as with any official contest, videos must comply with applicable laws, avoid infringing on third-party rights, and meet DJI’s community standards.

Drone filmmaking contests have become increasingly popular as manufacturers encourage users to showcase what their products can do beyond standard aerial photography. For DJI, the #AllForPassion Challenge is as much about inspiring creative storytelling as it is about highlighting the Avata 360’s unique capabilities.

For creators already planning outdoor adventures this summer, the competition offers a rare opportunity to potentially earn thousands of dollars while building exposure across multiple social media platforms. With the submission window remaining open until the end of September, there’s still plenty of time to capture that standout shot that could land at the top of DJI’s leaderboard.
