Impossible Aerospace provides 4K footage of US-1 drone in flight [video]

Here’s 4K footage of the US-1 drone midair. The footage was provided by Impossible Aerospace and is the first time the company released footage of their drone in action. As you can see in the video the US-1 drone flies over a commercial area. The footage is shot from another drone, presumingly another US-1 drone. The US-1 drone seems to be a very agile and stable drone, which is perhaps somewhat surprising as it is a sizeable aircraft. It weighs around 16 pounds and measures 26″ by 26″.

Update: Aerospace Impossible asked us to replace the original video with this new one. The original video was sent to us by mistake and was not meant to be released.

Impossible Aerospace US-1 drone in action

The US start-up Impossible Aerospace was founded by former Tesla module battery design engineer Spencer Gore in 2016. The US-1 drone was first shown to the public at the inter drone Expo in Las Vegas September last year.

The structure of the drone is made up from battery cells which allow a drone to stay airborne for about 2 hours. With a payload of up to 3 pounds, the drone can stay airborne for 78 minutes. The US-1 drone is quite expensive at about 7,000 US dollars without any accessories. It can be outfitted with a camera or thermal camera.

Impossible Aerospace targets commercial customers such as firefighters, police, coast guard and First Responders. In February of this year, the drone played a role in the standoff between the police and an armed man in California.

The US-1 drone has a maximum flight time of 120 minutes which is very impressive considering that the Drone weighs almost 16 pounds. The Drone can be recharged to 75% in 45 minutes this should provide about an hour and a half worth of flying. External dimensions of the drone are 660 mm x 660 mm (26” x 26”).
