New firmware for DJI Power 1000 superfast portable charger

Tech giant DJI has released a new firmware update for the newly-released Power 1000 portable charger that can power common household devices and provide superfast charging for DJI drone batteries.

With an inaugural discount price tag of $699 (with coupon), the DJI Power 1000 has a battery capacity of 1024Wh and weighs 13kg. The 2200W unit can be fully charged in just 70 minutes or, if you’re in a rush to get out, charged to 80% in just 50 minutes!

And with the help of separately-sold charging cables, DJI drone users can fast charge select drone batteries with the DJI Power SDC super-fast charge function; and be up in the air within approximately 30 minutes (from 10% to 95%).

The new firmware released for Power 1000 improves compatibility with certain power grids and also enhances stability when using SDC output to charge the batteries. Further, it fixes an issue where solar recharging is occasionally unavailable, along with fixing some other minor bugs.

You can update Power 1000 portable charger using DJI Assistant 2 (Power Series). In case the update fails, follow the following steps for troubleshooting:

  • Disconnect the computer and all connected devices from the power station.
  • Press and hold the power button for more than five seconds to power off the power station, and exit DJI Assistant 2 (Power Series).
  • Press and hold the AC button and the power button simultaneously. Connect the power station to the computer with a USB-C cable.
  • Connect the power station to an AC power outlet when updating the firmware of DJI Power 1000 with a rated voltage of 100 V or 120 V. Make sure to keep it connected during the updating process.
  • Retry updating the firmware to the latest version using DJI Assistant 2 (Power Series).
