US drone maker BRINC and OMADA Group are joining forces to transform water rescue operations through drone technology. The collaboration will allow public safety agencies across the US and Canada to deliver life-saving Emergency Flotation Devices (EFDs) swiftly and efficiently through drones.
Based in Seattle, BRINC is known for its innovative drone solutions tailored for first responders. Now, in partnership with OMADA Group, a leader in safety equipment, BRINC will equip drones with the lightweight Restube Automatic EFD, designed specifically for rapid deployment. This state-of-the-art flotation device can be mounted directly onto BRINC’s Responder drones, enabling the quick delivery of flotation support to those in distress on the water.
Watch the solution in action here:
“The Restube Automatic is the best Emergency Flotation Device to carry on drones because it is lightweight and automatically deploys in the water,” says Blake Resnick, founder and CEO of BRINC. “By combining Restube EFDs with BRINC’s drone ecosystem, we’re equipping first responders with a life-saving water rescue tool. This partnership enables immediate deployment of flotation devices to people who need them as quickly as possible.”
The integration of drones into rescue operations offers distinct advantages. According to Arcady Shteynberg, Owner/Partner of OMADA Group, “No tool can deliver a flotation device on scene faster than a drone. It requires less maintenance than traditional crewed aviation and isn’t restricted by the limitations of boats or other watercraft. As more agencies recognize its advantages, this game-changing tool is being rapidly adopted.”
