DJI delivery drone gets green light for commercial use in China

Tech giant DJI has achieved an important milestone with its FlyCart 30 drone. The heavy-duty drone has officially received the Type Certificate (TC) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, becoming the country’s first medium-sized multi-rotor transport drone to pass this rigorous certification process.

The TC certification signifies that the FlyCart 30 meets the highest safety and airworthiness standards set by the Chinese aviation authority. This achievement paves the way for the drone’s widespread commercial use across various industries, including logistics and emergency response.

Key features of DJI FlyCart 30 delivery drone:

  • Impressive payload capacity: The FlyCart 30 can carry heavy loads of up to 30 kilograms (66 pounds), making it ideal for transporting essential goods and equipment.
  • Extended flight range: With a maximum flight range of 28 kilometers (17 miles) without payload and 16 kilometers (10 miles) with full payload, the drone can cover vast distances.
  • Robust design: Built to withstand harsh weather conditions and challenging terrains, the DJI delivery drone is equipped with a durable airframe and advanced flight control systems.
  • Advanced technology: The drone utilizes DJI’s O3 video transmission system for reliable, long-range signal transmission. Additionally, a cellular dongle can be used to further enhance signal stability and video transmission.

  • Emergency response: Assisting in disaster relief efforts by delivering medical supplies and other critical items.
  • Rural areas: Delivering agricultural products and other goods to underserved communities.

Shao Jianhuo, vice president of DJI Innovations, explains that this certification milestone empowers DJI to expand its capabilities in various sectors, including mountain, rural, coastal, and emergency low-altitude logistics and transportation. “We are committed to realizing the mission of enabling everyone to enjoy safe, economical, and efficient air transportation. Low-altitude transportation has entered our lives.”
