Unlike what we expected to see from our assumption of electronic ND filters, per a leaked Mavic 4 Pro store listing, the electronic filter coming from DJI will snap onto the front of the massive camera payload like previous models. This was one of the few first details seen in what will be one of many early released store listings for the Mavic 4 Pro.
First reported by DroneXL, Jasper Ellens shares that the first store listing for the DJI Mavic 4 Pro has hit. While DJI usually sends out ample information about embargo dates and release times, both large and small stores regularly spill the beans weeks before products are released. Time and time again, these store listings have proven to be a great source of product details prior to launch.
In the listing, Ellens shares an image of what is the Mavic 4 Pro’s electronic ND filter. It has been previously reported that the new flagship camera drone from DJI will gain this feature and was assumed to have been integrated into the camera payload. This would match the feature that is found in many cinema cameras.
However, the image clearly shows that the filter replaces the front section of the payload bulb, similar to how ND filters work on the Mavic 3, Air 3, and Mini 4 Pro.
I didn’t notice this before, but in Mavic 4 Pro leaked photos you can clearly see the line around the front end of the camera payload for where it can be taken off. This stock front portion will likely then feature a UV filter to protect the more important front glass of the Mavic 4 Pro’s three cameras.
The listing also shared some pricing for the Mavic 4 Pro accessories, with the ND filter coming in at $220. However, these prices were converted from an undisclosed currency. As we know from looking at even just the Canadian and American DJI stores, prices can differ wildly, and straight conversions are not perfect. So, prices could be different. Although these from Ellens look pretty standard.
- Intelligent Flight Battery: $180
- Parallel Charging Hub: $100
- Propellers: $19
- Propeller Guard: $39
- Electronic ND Filter: $220
- DJI Care Refresh 1-Year Plan: $225
- DJI Care Refresh 2-Year Plan: $365
It’s likely you’ll be able to obtain a non-electronic ND filter from companies like PolarPro or Neewer either on release day or a few months afterward.
Ellens states in his piece that the release could be “weeks” away, which checks out with the ever-increasing leaks coming from multiple sources now.
We expect the drone to be released no earlier than the last full week of April, but that could change for any number of reasons.
