Two days ago we published our wishlist for the DJI Mavic Pro. Today we will cover the DJI Spark 2. What would we like to see in the next generation of our favorite drone (see our review here) and 9to5Toys product of the year 2017? Will a new version of the DJI Spark be launched anytime soon? We don’t know. However, here is our wishlist with the specifications we would like to see added or changed to our favorite mini-drone.

DroneDJ Review: The DJI Spark mini-drone packs a punch

The first time I got the DJI Spark in my hands was back in June. Since then I have flown the Spark mini-drone on numerous occasions, at many different locations, and in varying conditions. To say that I like the Mavic Pro’s smaller brother is an understatement.

I simply love the Spark. Yes, I wish it had 4K video, a real 3-axis gimbal, and a longer flight time. But the way the Spark flies when you put it in sports mode (fast and agile) and the fun that you can have with it, make up for its shortcomings. As they say, the best drone you have is the one that is with you. The Spark has joined me on many trips, where I simply would not have bothered to take the bigger and heavier Mavic Pro. As you probably can tell, the DJI Spark is one of my favorite drones!

With that out of the way, I owe you a full review of the DJI Spark mini-drone, so here we go.

DJI Spark drone can still fly at 13,000 feet (4,000m) altitude [video]

The DJI Spark was used to create this dramatic video footage of the Himalayas in the Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Gompa Valley of Nepal. The scenes are indeed beautiful but, as we know the Spark’s video footage (1080p) is of limited quality and it shows. The main culprit is the resolution. It is simply too low to do the scenery any justice. Both the Mavic Pro or Phantom 4 Pro would have been able to create breathtaking 4K video footage instead and achieve that cinematic look they were after.

However, it is not the quality of the video footage that impresses me. No, it is the fact that the small Spark still flies so well at this altitude of 13,000 feet above sea level. The Nepal360 crew even reported high winds and judging by the video, it seems that the smallest DJI drone handled really well.
