However, the latest information we just received, indicates that the remote controller will likely be delayed.
DJI ‘Pro’ Remote Controller is likely delayed
From our source close to DJI, we have learned that the DJI Mavic 2 ‘Pro’ Remote Controller will very likely not be shown at CES 2019. There are several issues that cause the delay:
- A component failure in the touch-screen.
- A supplier not meeting the production targets for another component.
- A price point (estimated around $700 USD) that would be too high to allow for widespread use and acceptance and would thus limit profitability.
Many of our readers have indicated that they were very much looking forward to the new ‘Pro’ Remote Controller. It will feature a CrystalSky display that would provide a much better viewing experience compared to flying with a smartphone or tablet. The CrystalSky display will have HDMI output, 1000-nit display as well as a temperature-resistant (-4℉ to 104℉) design. The new DJI Mavic 2 Remote Controller with the built-in display is also rumored to be locked down so that only DJI 4 Go can be used.
