Man killed while trying to retrieve quadcopter drone

A 37-year-old man was killed and another man was injured while trying to retrieve a quadcopter drone near power lines in Forest Park, Georgia Saturday evening. According to Forest Park Police, the drone accident that took place in the 800 block of Needle Drive, was reported at 6:23 p.m. on Saturday evening. The victim, Ruff Fitzgerald Teasley was trying to knock the drone down but he inadvertently touched the power lines with the pole he was using, electrocuting him. The man was taken to the hospital by Forest Park Rescue. Unfortunately, efforts to revive the victim were unsuccessful.

Drone pilot fined $160 for flying UAV that hit baby in the face

On July 24 Cassandra Roberts took her one-year-old son Atticus to Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf, Iowa where her little one was hit in the face by a drone. A 19-year-old man from Davenport has since been identified as the drone pilot and was fined $160 for flying the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that his the baby’s face.

Drone collides with helicopter over the Verzasca Dam in Switzerland

Various Swiss media have reported a collision between a drone and a helicopter in the Verzasca Valley. The collision happened high above the Verzasca Dam in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland, last Friday, May 25. The Swiss Security Investigation Service (SUST) has identified the drone pilot, a 42-year-old Swiss from the canton of Lucerne.

Woman settles lawsuit with USC frat and event-planning company after being hit in the head with a drone

A woman who was hit in the head with a drone at a 2015 frat party, settles the lawsuit with USC fraternity Pi Kappa Phi’s Delta Rho Chapter and event planner, Perfect Event Inc. according to documents filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court on April 12. According to her lawyers, the lawsuit was resolved. No terms were divulged.
